Memoradum of Partnership by the President of NPHO and the Rector of the University of Crete

The Rector of University of Crete, Professor George M.Kontakis and the President of the National Public Health Organization (NPHO), mr. Theoklis Zaoutis, have signed on Wednesday 11 January 2023 a Memorandum of Partnership in order to establish the framework of collaboration between the National Public Health Organization (NPHO) and the University of Crete for the operation of the Regional Public Health Laboratory (RPHL) of Crete.

In the event attended on behalf of UoC the Dean of the School of Medicine, Professor Georgios Kochiadakis and the Assistant Professor of Zoonoses of the School of Medicine, Anna Psaroulaki.

The Memorandum of Partnership is part of NPHO’s effort to support the Regional Public Health Laboratories. "The support is achieved by adding George Survinos’s Laboratory of Clinical Virology, to Anna Psaroulaki’s, Associate Professor of Zoonoses, Laboratory to ensure full protection," stated the President of NPHO, Mr. Zaoutis. The Rector of the University of Crete, Professor George M. Kontakis, , commented that the objective of the Regional Public Health Laboratory (RPHL) will be epidemiological data, all forms of viruses and microbes, food and public health issues, with the scope of involvement to be further enriched by the cooperation between the University of Crete and NPHO.
